Electrical services in Englewood
These are the Englewood jobs we take. The permit desk depends on which county the address sits in.
Panel upgrades in Englewood
Service changes and panel changeouts for older Englewood houses, including beach-side homes. We confirm the county, pull that permit, and schedule the Florida Power & Light disconnect before the panel comes off the wall.
Salt-air repairs
Exterior panels, meter equipment, and outdoor circuits on Englewood Beach take more corrosion than a mainland house. Replacement gear is listed for that exposure.
EV charger circuits
Home EV circuits after a panel load check. A charger does not go in if the service cannot carry it.
Rewires and additions
Rewires, room additions, and remodel circuits. Open walls get new wiring, not a cover plate over an undersized circuit.
Troubleshooting
Tripping breakers, partial power, dead circuits, and storm damage. Englewood is close enough to the Punta Gorda shop for scheduled service calls.
Small commercial
Tenant lighting and equipment circuits on Dearborn and the Tamiami Trail corridor. Larger jobs are walked before they are priced.
Englewood sits in two counties
Englewood is not an incorporated city. An address in Charlotte County is permitted through Charlotte County Building Construction Services. The county’s main office is on Murdock Circle in Port Charlotte, and it has used a residential storm-permit site at 6868 San Casa Drive in Englewood. An address on the Sarasota County side is permitted through Sarasota County Planning and Development Services. We confirm the county from the address before the permit is filed.
Most Englewood accounts are Florida Power & Light. A panel change waits on that utility’s disconnect window. Manasota Key and Englewood Beach are in the service area. We do not list an Englewood street address.

Englewood electrician questions
Does Strange Electric have an office in Englewood?
No. The shop is at 1904 Education Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. Englewood is a service area, not a second location.
Are you licensed for electrical work in Englewood?
Yes. Strange Electric LLC holds Florida Unlimited Electrical Contractor license EC13014379 and is insured. That license covers work on both the Charlotte County and Sarasota County sides of Englewood.
Who permits an Englewood electrical job?
Charlotte County Building Construction Services if the address is in Charlotte County. Sarasota County Planning and Development Services if it is in Sarasota County. The licensed contractor pulls the permit when one is required.
Do you upgrade panels in Englewood?
Yes. Panel changeouts are scheduled after we see the existing service, confirm the county, and confirm the Florida Power & Light account.
Do you install EV chargers in Englewood?
Yes, when the panel can carry the circuit. We install the circuit and confirm the service. We do not install a charger the panel cannot support.
How do I get an Englewood estimate?
Call 941-249-7297 or use strangeelectricllc.com/quote/. The estimate is based on the panel and the job, not a flat price given over the phone.
